Origins
Welcome to DAY 1!
This is the part of the story where you, the protagonist, identify what this story is going to be about. If this Quest is to sustain you for 30 days then you should surrender to your passion. What does that mean? It means that whatever you wish to create should be something calling to you, sending "chills" down your spine.
This section will divided into two parts: Your Journal and Mike’s Journal. In “Your Journal” you will use this book (blog) to write your own story. “Mike’s Journal” will show you an example about how to record your thoughts, dreams, diet, and observations along the way.
“Origins” is where you plant the seed for what’s to come. The “WHY” behind your workouts will be your power. If the “WHY” is strong so will your motivation. It’s okay if during the course of your story for the “WHY” to change. What that means is you’ve gone deeper into understanding yourself, getting closer to the truth of who you are as a spiritual being. As long as you keep showing up then your “WHY” is allowed to change.
Dorothy wanted to escape from Kansas and visit some place “over the rainbow”. Luke Skywalker’s deepest wish was to leave the farm and become a hero in space battle. In the first act, the hero asks the adventure to come to her or him. Assuming you’ve picked up this book on your own accord, you are intentionally inviting the adventure to come in and change your life. (There are stories where the hero doesn’t invite the journey but find themselves mysteriously on it anyway. But if you’ve gotten this far then you are now consciously setting forth on your journey.)
During this chapter you will be asked choose 4 “Intentions” about why you want to succeed in your Quest. These intentions are your lifeline for the next 30 days and will come into play during each phase of the adventure. Take your time to really identify why you want this and what you would like to see happen during the 30 day Quest.
An Example of 4 Intentions:
30 DAY QUEST is to "Lose 7 Pounds"
4 Intentions asks the question "WHY" do you want to lose 7 pounds?
Intention # 1: To feel better about the way I look.
Intention # 2: To enjoy more energy at work and in social situations.
Intention # 3: To contribute to my longevity and resistance to disease.
Intention # 4: To have more fun.
