DAY 2 (Mike's Journal)

Mike’s Journal
DAY 2

DATE: August 23, 2012
TIME: 9:12 pm

A. OPENING THOUGHTS/OBSERVATIONS: I'm allowing myself to just do the work. My journal entries are not perfect. Hell, they’re not even clear to any one outside of myself reading it. It just feels good to be on the trip.

I have a clear visualization about having photos taken of myself demonstrating fitness exercises. This vision provides me with clarity knowing I will be proud to show off my body when ready to provide photographic illustrations for this book.

My sets were easier to perform when my mind was positively engaged. I don’t normally do 4 sets as I had in the past 2 days and haven't tired as easily since adding the Interactive Emotional Exercises. Just by adding the intellectual and emotional content, I was able to perform the physical work more effectively. I’m excited about completing the 30 day book!

Today was focused on working out my legs while reflecting on the four benefits as to why I wanted to complete this program. I also went deeper with some of the features of the benefits.

B. DREAM ENTRY: (Use this section if you can remember your dreams. Pay special attention as to how they support knowledge on your new adventure.)

I was able to record four dreams last night. Nothing tremendously monumental except for the fact that I’m polishing up this skill. Dreamed about completion and about being watched by benevolent friends and teachers. I also dreamed about feeling younger.

C. During the workout, focus on the specifics inspired from each of your answers given yesterday. Take each answer from yesterday and go a little deeper with it. What will enjoying this benefit give you? What can you see, hear, feel, or touch experiencing this benefit? How you “go deeper” and express the benefit is not important. What is important is that you spend more time “anchoring“, or solidifying, your intentions.

The Workout

Focus on: Legs

1. Exercise 1: ______Barbell Leg Squats_____________

____4___ Sets of ____10_____ Reps

After Set 1, focus on your answers from yesterday. Start with your answer to Exercise 1, a.

INTENTION 1: INCREASE CONFIDENCE

Answer from DAY 1, 1, a: “Credibility”

(a) Greater credibility will give me the opportunity to travel. So I reflect on places I’d  like to travel to and people I want to meet.  Again, I surmised that Increased Confidence = More Writing = A Finished Product = Place to Travel in Order to Teach This Material.  On this first set I meditated on traveling to Europe to present the Spiri-Sculpt material.

After Set 2 review and expand on your answer from Exercise 1, b or go even deeper with your answer from 1,a.

Answer from DAY 1, 1, b: “Writing depends on my confidence level.”

(b) I want to write and do a presentation in Los Angeles. This entry goes deeper with my answer from yesterday and my very deep need to travel. I enjoy LA and relate to many of people I’ve met there.  It would be fun to visit my brother in LA, present this material, without having to worry about travel expenses.

After Set 3:

Answer from DAY 1, 1, c: “I can perform better as an actor.”

(c) Thinking about this further, I’d rather “perform” as a spokesperson for this material rather than on stage or film. Acting is about the freedom of emotional expression, to share your feelings authentically with others. Presenting this material is the greatest “script” I could work from. I see myself doing this in the warm weather of Orlando while taking my future son or daughter to the theme parks. I’d also like to do this in Virginia Beach, a place that always had special meaning to me.

After Set 4 (or between exercises):

Answer from DAY 1, 1, d: “Let go of desire. Know that I am One with Source.”

(d) Yes, I’d like to travel the world doing this. See every city, country, and land. But it has infinite value to me knowing that I’m sharing something meaningful. To visit a place, or just being a tourist, doesn’t nourish me as much. Sharing something of importance with the place's people is why I am here.

2. Exercise 2: ______Seated Leg Press__________

____4___
Sets of ____10___ Reps

After Set 1, focus on your answers from yesterday. Start with your answer to Exercise 2, a.

INTENTION 2: DEVELOP SPIRITUAL LIFE.

Answer from DAY 1, 2, a: “Focusing on my spiritual life will make my marriage richer.”

(a) Involving myself mind, body, and spirit in a training program like this helps me communicate with more openness. This is paramount to relating to my future wife with less fear and more compassion. When I leave a workout like this I know I’m more at peace.

After Set 2:

Answer from DAY 1, 2, b: “My spirituality makes me more attractive while I can feel and act younger.”

(b) The more attractive and vibrant I feel, the more worthy I know I am to perform miracles. After a very meaningful conversation with others I know the quality of my life is miraculous. It inspires me to use this energy to help people walk again or lose weight or work on their own self-image.

After Set 3:

Answer from DAY 1, 2, c: “Continue to deepen my personal A Course in Miracles practice.”

(c) Today my CIM work leads me to focus on maintaining a sense of connection. My perception is accurate in believing that “The only correction that needs to be made is that you are separate from God.” Therefore, I’m being able to see that I’m perfect right now. If I complete this book and it’s shared with others is irrelevant to the perception I’m experiencing right now, at this moment, in writing it.

After Set 4:

Answer from DAY 1, 2, d: “Reaffirm that I am an equal expression of God.”

(d) I am humbled in knowing this. Today I will remain focused on seeing this highest expression in others. There is no separation between Self and God, or Self and The Other. When you’re looking for that in Others it naturally is radiating through You. That has something to do, a HUGE something to do, with the idea of Atonement.

3. Exercise 3: ______Leg Extensions__________

____3___
Sets of ____12___ Reps After Set 1, focus on your answers from yesterday. Start with your answer to Exercise 3, a.

INTENTION 3: DEVELOP CONTENT FOR A BOOK

Answer from DAY 1, 3, a: “Exercise leads to more power over my destiny.”

(a) After reflecting on this, I don’t know if that’s true. My “destiny” is the same as everyone else's which is to become aware of my union with Source. How and when I get there is under my perception of free will. But I know that I’m choosing to use the tool of physical exercise, through the illusion of my body, to correct my vision and embrace this Universal destiny.

After Set 2:

Answer from DAY 1, 3, b: “My mind grows hungrier for more of this combination of physical exercise with the Interactive Emotional Exercises.”

(b) Not much to write further about this only that it’s very true. I’m feeling very inspired to write, exercise, and re-perceive my relationship to Source. It’s addictive.

After Set 3:

Answer from DAY 1, 3, c: “Each thought is of value and has personal meaning to me.”

(c) Yes, each thought is coming from a place of clarity in this moment. With greater clarity comes greater insight. I feel very clear and lucid right now so I know the content has value. That might mean nothing to the reader but that’s why my journal is meant for me and for those who might find value in it. Otherwise, the journal may just serve as a guide to help others understand how to structure this program to fit their own needs.

Between Exercises 3 and 4:

Answer from DAY 1, 3, d:
“I am intelligent.”

(d) Every set and repetition does have meaning now. This thought is the result of finishing my third set of Leg Extensions. I’ve concluded that I am getting “smarter” with each exercise.  I’m feeding my mind with every workout and not just my body. By this third set I’m realizing I'm not nearly as fatigued as I’d been in previous workouts. It was joyful to understand that this program is working and it’s only Day Two!

4. Exercise 4: ______Prone Leg Curls_________

____3___ Sets of ____12_____ Reps

After Set 1, focus on your answers from yesterday. Start with your answer to Exercise 3, a.

INTENTION 4: CHANGING MY LIFE IN 30 DAYS

Answer from DAY 1, 4, a: “Having desire makes me capable of fulfilling it.”

(a) My desire now is to be consistently at peace like I am experiencing right now. This doesn’t exist in any other moment other than NOW. NOW is all that exists. The ability to recognize this is the way all things are possible. The desire to have my life change is the very reason I feel it hasn’t changed. Source is beyond change because it is permanence. All I can do is choose to perceive that which is unchanged. It sounds like a very esoteric thing, but reflecting on this will give the appearance of my “external” circumstances the opportunity to change or evolve.

After Set 2:

Answer from DAY 1, 4, b: “Finishing is success.”

(b) Success is in choosing to do this. When I think of the “Big Picture” or writing a book about this, it’s intimidating. But just going back and forth, writing down one idea then doing a set of exercise, is easy. I am succeeding in every moment.

After Set 3:

Answer from DAY 1, 4, c: “Experience ‘miraculous moments’ (miracles) in 30 days.”

(c) Hmm. I guess that's how I want my life to change. To have the ability to experience more miracles on a regular basis until miracles are no longer needed. I’m starting to sense that just feeling this sensation, or rather making this observation, is a miracle in itself.

Between Exercises 4 and 5:

Answer from DAY 1, 4, d: “Life has already changed.”

(d) Maybe it has. If I perceive this moment as entirely complete then life has changed into what I want it to be right now. This is how I’ve always chosen to feel. If I compare life to having riches, or fame, or “importance” then life hasn’t changed one bit.

5. Exercise 5: ______V-Up Crunches_________

____3___
Sets of   ____15_____ Reps

After Set 1, focus on each intention once again. Journal about your new perception about each intention.

INTENTION 1: Increased Confidence.

(a) I know if I relax and just allow myself to be then increased confidence is already here.  What I really seek is partnership - for others to validate my feelings and thoughts. A strong body is a calling card for this. Maybe this is a weakness of my mindset in which something is needed to correct this perception.

After Set 2:

INTENTION 2: Deepen Awareness of Spiritual Life.

(b) Today has been a very successful spiritual day. It’s a very empowering feeling to feel this way after working out. I can’t wait to do this again tomorrow.

After Set 3:

INTENTION 3: Develop Content for Book.

(c) The content recorded today feels right and a great example of the intention behind this writing. I’m pleased with the interactive content and of what I got out of today’s workout.

Between Exercises 5 and 6:

INTENTION 4: Change of Life in 30 Days.

(d) My life already has changed. I need only believe in the changeless nature of my spiritual relationship.

6. Exercise 6: ______Crunches on Stability Ball________

____3___
Sets of ____30_____ Reps

Review all intentions between each set.

1. Increase Confidence.
2. Deepen Spiritual Awareness.
3. Develop Content for Book.
4. Change My Life in 30 Days.

DIET JOURNAL: (log in any foods you consumed for the day)

Egg White Omelet with Lox
Potatoes
Wheat Toast
English Muffin
Greek Yogurt
Protein Bar
Energy Bar
Swai Fish
Brown Rice
Popcorn

ADDITIONAL JOURNAL ENTRIES:

Feeling the burn in my abs during the last exercise, I noticed my first set was focused on how chiseled my abs would look by the end of this program! Continuing to focus on how I’d be a different person, Set 2 was about feelings of immediacy. Meaning, thirty days is not a long time so there seems to be an immediacy in everything I’m doing today. I noticed a difference in my body composition at the end of the workout. This may merely be psychological but I felt more “ripped”. Finally on Set 3, my focus was on how a “fitness” book can help feed the soul. That really inspired me.

And then my workout was over.
