C. On this final day of the “Shadows” phase we will take one last look at the Critical Gap, or that which you perceive stands in the way of you and your intentions.
To do this we will take a four step approach with each physical exercise.
Step 1: Review and Restate each Critical Gap from DAY 3 and once again identify the emotions.
Step 2: Offer new evidence, or a new affirmation, of how to overcome this gap.
Step 3: Identify the emotion the new affirmation provides you with. (Use the list at the beginning of this chapter from DAY 4 as a guide.)
Step 4: Repeat/review the original intention and state what it means to you today.
EXAMPLE:
Step 1: “What stands in my way of increasing my confidence is being busy all day long. This book not only requires working out but also setting aside time to write these journal entries. By Sets 3 and 4 I realized to overcome this limitation was to take one day at a time and not concern myself with a 30 Day Quest. I chose to workout today. Let tomorrow come but today I’m sticking to this regimen.”
Identified Emotion: Apathy. (Copied from Mike's DAY 3)
Step 2: “My desire is strong enough to get excited about each workout. I find that my passion is increasing with each day. If I’m unable to journal this every day, I can still catch up and log three or four days in one sitting.”
Step 3: Identified Emotion - Willingness, perhaps Joy
Step 4: "Increased Confidence" means easily making the right decision every day to work out to the best of my ability. This is now becoming a habit to feel comfortable and confident. I’m excited that I’ve made it to the "Helping Hands" chapter which starts tomorrow. There’s confidence in progression and knowing the map.
